We will be at Dairy Queen from 9am to 12pm on April 10th doing a car wash to raise money for charity: water. They are an AMAZING non-profit organization that provides clean, safe drinking water for people in developing nations. We will send everything we make to them. Our first car wash raised over $1,200 for them!
Please come on out and support our efforts!
We will have signups in the coming weeks for those of you who would like to volunteer to wash the cars.
Here is the team that is headed to Mexico with us! We're going to build at least 3 houses, and hopefully leave behind a whole lot of love.

Wondering what's up this weekend?
the 5/6 Ministry will continue to meet in their usual room for the next few weeks. They'll make the move two doors down as soon as we get everyone else situated!
Junior High and High School will be meeting in the Student Center from now on. This weekend is more of a "tour" than an actual worship service. We're still purchasing all of the things we'll need to be ready by Grand Opening weekend on the 28th. The keyword for the next few weeks is FLEXIBILITY. The room will be a work in progress.
The College Ministry will begin meeting in the new Student Center as soon as we can get everything we need in there! Shouldn't be long at all.
Stay tuned!
Huge congratulations to a young lady named Katelyn in our High School Ministry! She recited the entire book of Colossians tonight in front of me and her small group leader Nicole. We promised that we would send the first student to do that to camp, so she is on her way to Summer Camp this July!
I've done this contest FOUR times over the past four years, and she's the very first student to actually make it all the way through. Amazing.
She was the most excited about how powerful it is to have that much of God's word planted in her heart. She was already sharing stories about her favorite verses and how God has already been using them in her life. Amazing, amazing, amazing.
We still have one more trip to give away! After hearing about what Katelyn did, we had an anonymous donor in the church offer to send another student to camp if they memorize Colossians! So, go get it. The first person to memorize the whole thing and recite it to me perfectly wins. If nobody makes it all the way we will give the prize to the person who can recite the most on June 6th.
Thank you, Katelyn! You've inspired us all :)
We had to postpone the "Oil Changes for Single Moms" service project. We will let you know when we are able to schedule a new date.

Day 2 was great as well.
The students have gone above and beyond everything they've been asked to do. I haven't heard one student complain. They're definetely being stretched. The neighborhoods we've worked in have been very poor. Most of the students on this trip have never seen anything like this. They've seen photos, but one student said, "I didn't realize that it was really like this all over the place." They've also noticed the joy of the people here. The families we've served have loved us well, and so have their neighbors. OPur students are playing with the children as often as they come around, which is pretty often.
The teaching is strong. It's definitely a different style than they're used to (with me), but they're receiving it well.
A handful of the students decided to sponsor a child through World Vision. You may want to talk about this right away when they get home. It is a $35/month commitment, so you'll have to help them figure out if they can really afford to keep it going. You can check out World Vision HERE. Lindsay and I sponsor two kids through them- they're a fantastic organization.
We're all building again tomorrow, and then visiting the orphanage on Thursday together. We leave on Friday morning after breakfast, and we should be home by 5:00 or 6:00 on Friday, not 10:00 as we initially planned.
Feel free to leave a comment if you want to say hello to anyone! I'll relay the messages. Thanks!
Aubrey Hennis would like me to ask her mom if she would please feed her fish. Deborah is hungry, and she needs food. Thanks!
Hello from Mexico!
Things are going perfectly. The students were broken up into 3 teams today, each one serving a different family by building a home. The food has been great, and they've been drinking lots and lots of water.
The teaching this morning was all about becoming fully devoted followers of Jesus in every area of life. The students were challenged to give up their entitlement and pursue a radical life of devotion.
Thank you for trusting us with your kids! We're taking good care of them. They are amazing, so thank YOU for doing such a great job of parenting! You should be very proud of them. They are representing our church very well here in Mexico.
We made it!
Everything is great so far. The group is getting along really well.
I'll try to upload pics this week as they come in! Things are pretty busy here, but I'll definitely make an effort.
Thanks for following along!

Dear parents,
This week we're concluding our small group series on the Law and the Prophets. The Messianic prophecy of Jesus in Isaiah 52 and 53 serves as our text for this lesson. We'll see that the Messiah would come in obscurity (Isaiah 53:2), no one would come to his defense (Isaiah 53:8a), and he would take the punishment for our sin (Isaiah 53:4-6).
I'd encourage you to take time this week to talk with your child about the four-week series we just finished. Here are some specific questions tied to this week's lesson:
I trust this has been a challenging and growing series for your teenager. Feel free to call or email me if you have any questions or any prayer requests at . Have a great day!
