The Story

House of Refuge East (HRE) is a faith-based, non-profit organization helping homeless families and individuals in crisis by providing transitional housing and supportive services that assist participants as they strive toward self-sufficiency and seek to attain permanent housing. The 22-acre HRE property includes 88 homes and other facilities that help families towards self-sufficiency.

What We Do

From providing new mattresses for women at HRE for Mother's Day to sending our students over to wash cars and toys, MISSION is working with HRE to help stand in the gap for hurting families working toward self-sufficiency.

Recently, Kidzone led the way as parents and children showed up ready to overwhelm the HRE campus with love and trash bags! Families experienced laughter, mixed with a little dirt and grime as they raked leaves, picked up rubbish and trimmed shrubs. A friendly competition of kickball wrapped up the day as the children of MISSION played with the children from HRE. Join us for an upcoming event or service opportunity.
