Home-Based Care volunteers provide a human touch, practical help and prayer for those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
What is Home-Based Care?
Home Based Care (HBC) is a ministry on the frontlines of battling HIV/AIDS. HBC is designed to comfort, feed, care and pray for the sick, dying, elderly, widowed and orphaned in a village or community. Christian HBC volunteers from local churches visit homes on a weekly basis providing a human touch, practical help and prayer. They are often the last person someone sees before they die, the first person they meet after losing a family member or the first safe person they can trust after they have been sexually assaulted.
Support a HBC Worker
You can participate in the ministry of Home-Based Care with a monthly gift of $35. The money enables HBC volunteers to provide their patients with basic medicines, food packets and supplies. The funds also enable Somebody Cares to purchase bicycles and bicycle ambulances, volunteer uniforms and training for HBC volunteers. Your monthly gift makes a tremendous, life-changing differences for literally hundreds of patients in Chikudzulire and other communities served by Somebody Cares. The hungry are fed, the sick are given medicine and the love of Jesus is spread to a whole family and community.
