How long are your services?

Services are approximately 70-minutes long. Click here for our weekend service times.

How often do you celebrate communion?

We celebrate communion once a month on average. There is no set schedule as we plan communion for the service where it best fits the biblical content of the message.

As followers of Jesus, we take communion together as a community. While we do not feel a thimble of grape juice and a cracker are the best representation of Biblical communion, we do believe that in a large worship environment, we are able to reflect on 1 Corinthians 11:25-29. In doing so we give thanks in remembrance of Jesus who took the sin of the world upon Himself and died on a cross so that those who accept His free gift of grace would not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

We feel communion is more accurately displayed as part of a meal in a community of Christ-followers who are doing life together. For more on our Missional Communities click here.

What is the preaching/worship style?

We are "people of the Book" which simply means that our teaching is Biblically-based. The worship style is diverse utilizing modern songs as well as traditional hymns. Click here to watch our current series.

We recognize that MISSION may not be the church for everyone. Biblical community is very important to us and if MISSION is not a good fit for you or your family, we want to help you find a church home. There are several fantastic, Gospel-centered churches in the East Valley and we'd be happy to point you in a direction that might be a better fit for you. Please contact us so that we can help!

How many people attend MISSION?

We currently average about 5,500 in attendance each weekend. In a church this big it can be difficult to meet people during weekend services. We suggest you consider getting connected with a Missional Community to experience true, biblical community @ MISSION.

Do I need to dress up?

MISSION worship services are a casual dress environment. From shorts and flip-flops to slacks and dress-shirts, we have quite a variety of styles here.

What is the pastor like?

Our lead Pastor Mark Connelly and his wife Kay have been involved in ministry for many years and are deeply committed to the vision of Mission Community Church. Learn more about Mark here.

What do you believe?

Our vision at Mission Community Church comes directly from Micah 6:8.

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

For more about what we believe, click here.

How do I get connected?

There are many ways to get connected at MISSION. A great first step is to attend Backstage, a 90-minute session that gives you an overview of who we are, an opportunity to meet our staff and to learn more about our vision to do justice, love mercy and walk humbly with our God. Learn more and sign up for Backstage here.

What do you offer for my kids?

Mission Kids is our ministry for infants-4th grade. Learn more about Mission Kids here.

What do you offer for students?

We have ministries for 5th/6th graders and Jr. High and High School students. Learn more about our Student Ministries here.

How is the church organized?

We have a board of servant leaders that function as biblical elders in addition to our pastoral staff. Functionally, we are staff-led and board-protected as a church. Meet our staff here.
