Meet Our Staff

When did you join MISSION staff?

My family and I moved here in February of 2009 from snowy Colorado. We were there for 13 years and prior to that were in Minnesota for about a dozen years.

Where did you go to college?

I went to a very small Christian college in Dayton, TN called Bryan College where I majored in Christian Education and Bible.  I did several years of study at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul, MN.

What is your family like?

My family is awesome.  Patti and I have been married for 28 years and we have two kids who both graduated from college this year.  Brandon and Amy both live here in AZ.

Where were you born?

Des Moines, IA where I lived until I was five when we moved to Florida.  Yup my grandparents lived there.

What was your most recent purchase?

A battery powered trimmer.  I feel powerful.

What's your current soundtrack?

Rend Collective Experiment, Bon Iver, Mumford and Sons, Elevation Worship

What is something most people don't know about you?

I have BAD allergies and I love to sing.  I have a minor in music and took private voice lessons for 4 years.  I have had the opportunity to sing in a large number of settings. Now, my singing career is limited to the car or the occaional choral group at MISSION.

If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?

I would love to visit Italy!

What was your first job?

I was hired as a church custodian at age 12.  I am pretty sure this was not legal.  I made $2.00 per hour and thought I was rich.

If you were on a deserted island and could only bring 3 things, what would they be?

Food, Coke Zero and my iPad!

Best place in the Valley to get Mexican food?

Arribas!! (just kidding - Blanco in the Borgata of Scottsdale)
